Cooper Reese Lyles, a lifelong resident of Saint Augustine Florida, passed away unexpectedly on December 2, 2024. He was survived by his mother, Aundrea Lyles, his father and stepmother, Jason and Andrea Lyles, his sister Ashlynn Taylor Lyles, his brother Ethan Lyles, brother-in-law Joseph Castillo, nephew Bronx and niece Embry Castillo, paternal grand parents Jack Lyles and Gina Jones, maternal grandmother Alicia Rennia and her husband Papa Ed Rennia, great grandmother Minnie Maynard, uncles Mike, Chris and Linc Lyles and Williams Maynard, aunt Summer Harvey, as well as many great uncles, aunts, cousins and extended family. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Edwin Maynard.
Cooper was born on January 27th, 2006. He graduated from St. Augustine High-school in 2024, where excelled in the classroom and on the lacrosse field. He was team captain and lead his team to a district championship in 2024.
Cooper was a loving son and brother. He loved his cats Gator and Roscoe, and his dog Charley. In addition to his love of lacrosse and animals, he also enjoyed fishing, golf, gaming and any time spent with his friends and family. Cooper was a shy, reserved, soft spoken young man that blazed his own path. On the field, he lead by example, never, ever taking a play off. Giving praise, instruction and guidance when needed. When he spoke, it was usually hilarious, or wise. Those who were lucky enough to be let in knew how smart, witty and deep he could be.
In true Cooper fashion, he did not rush out of high school and jump into college. He paused, assessed, researched several options and decided that a career in Fish and Wildlife was what he wanted to do. He took a semester off to work and save money, and planned to begin classes in January with an eye toward a criminal justice degree to assist with his career in FWC.
Cooper was kind, smart, loving, witty, giving, dedicated, disciplined and passionate about anyone and anything in his life. He was taken way too soon and will be missed by all who knew him. Please come help us celebrate his life.
Services will be lead by Pastor Mark Hiers, and held on Sunday, December the 8th, 2024 at 2 pm at the St. Johns Agricultural Center, 3125 Agricultural Center Drive, St. Augustine Florida 32092.

Kid hits a 40 foot putt on the 18th green right in Ethan and me. We were so confident that we were gonna win (I could finally say that I beat Mr. Jason too). Then coop hits one of the most beautiful shots I´d ever seen. Him and Jason lit up like they just won the Masters. And to us it was. Golfing/living through and with you forever Coop.

I remember sitting in statistics with him after a pretty bad day at school just this past year during project presentations and all I can remember is just glancing over at him and when we made eye contact we just both started laughing in the middle of class. It just goes to show that even when I wasn´t feeling the best or was in a bad mood he always knew how to bring out the best in me. he always found a way to brighten my day. Love you coop.
