Jacquelyn L. McCraw

Jacquelyn Lopez McCraw (87) passed away peacefully on September 29, 2025. The daughter of Wallace and Cecil Lopez and a native of St. Augustine, Florida, Jackie was a 1955 graduate of Ketterlinus High School. Her high school yearbook described Jackie as "A giggle…a dash…a fall…a crash…that's our Jackie!" and anyone who knew her would agree.

She attended Florida State University where she was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority and remained a loyal Seminole. Go Noles!

As a descendent of one of the original families of St. Augustine, Jackie served as part of the first Royal Family Trio of St. Augustine in 1959 as Queen Marianne. Let's just say she never forgot how to wear a crown.

Jackie worked for Selective Service, The Army Corp of Engineers, and the National Park Service retiring after 30 years of Federal service.

In retirement, she was a member of The Garden Club of St. Augustine, The St. Augustine Piecemakers quilting club, and the Red Hat Society.

In her later years at the Allegro, she stayed young at heart- enjoying bingo, tai chi, Rummikube, and happy hours with the Coconuts. Jackie's life was one of laughter, love, and fun. She will be deeply missed, and her legacy of joy will live on. Jackie was predeceased by her parents and her husband of 43 years, Wendell McCraw. She is survived by her daughter Marilyn Young Tatum (Chuck) of St. Augustine, son Chuck

Young (Karen) of Cape Coral, Florida; her sister Marilyn Helmly of St. Augustine; her grandchildren Daniel and Allie Young and Caroline Tatum and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10th from 6-7pm at Craig Funeral Home. Graveside service will be on Saturday, October 11th at 10am at San Lorenzo Cemetery.
