Cora Lee Geren, 98, of Cleveland, TN entered her Heavenly home on July 31, 2025. Cora lived a life of service for her Lord and Savior and always spoke to her friends and family about the Lord. Cora and her loving husband Fred of 62 years were founding members of the Prospect Church of God where she attended for many years with her family. She also worked as a seamstress for many years, making quilts, clothing, and in earlier years worked in upholstery. Later in life she enjoyed being a mother to her six children and grandmother "Mamoo" to her 3 generations of grandchildren.
Cora was preceded in death by her husband Fred "Papoo" Geren; mother Ethel Lewis and father John Lewis; daughter Drucilla "Tootie" Geren; and son David Geren.
She is survived by her children Danny Geren, Deborah (John) Duggan, Dennis (Linda) Geren, and Donna Kaylor; grandchildren Rhonda (Tim) Price, Johnny (Kellie) Duggan, Tonya Crawford, Jason Duggan, Vanessa (Jason) Short, Matthew Geren (Chris), Andrew Cranfield, Caitlin Almazan, Chris Chapman; great grandchildren Hannah (Ross) Yates, Kinser Crawford, Harrison (Carlee) Price, Summer Duggan, Addison Short, Connor Short, Ian Almazan, Ellie Almazan; and her one great great grandson Hudson Yates.
Special thanks to Adoration Home Health and Hospice especially nurses Tanya Goode, Janie Barton, Annie Wilcox and Lawanda Ihenetu for their excellent care and service during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, please donate in her memory to the charity of your choice.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening, August 4, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in The Ridge Chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 2412 Georgetown Road NW in Cleveland, TN. A service celebrating her life will follow at 7:00 PM in The Ridge Chapel with the Reverend Sammy Hughes and the Reverend Adam Jones officiating.
The interment and committal service will take place on Tuesday morning, August 5, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the Fort Hill Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers.
