Corey Semaj Adams was born November 3, 2006, in New Orleans, Louisiana to Chantrel Bernhart and Corey Lemar Adams. He departed his life on July 19th 2025.

Corey was the second of seven siblings in a family grounded in faith and love. Corey spent six years playing football for the New Orleans Panthers and two years playing for the Chiefs. Corey attended Mildred Harris Elementary and graduated proudly from Edna Karr High School, where he became one of the most promising football players in the state.

Corey was a standout at Edna Karr High School, whereas a junior and senior he earned back-to-back All-State honors and was named class 5A defensive player of the

year. Regarded as one of Louisiana's top recruits, he enrolled early at Ole Miss in January 2025. Corey fulfilled his dream by enrolling at the University of Mississippi

where he joined the Rebels football team as a defensive lineman. Corey impressed coaches with his work ethic, competitive spirit, and leadership potential. Corey's natural leadership and talent made him a standout both on and off the field.

Beyond the game, Corey was full of heart, promise and drive. Corey was not only a gifted athlete but a kind soul, a loyal son, a protective brother, and a true friend to many. He cherished his family above all else. He loved his family with all his heart. It was absolutely nothing he wouldn't do to make anyone happy. He made sure he did not leave without stating his famous words "I Love You" to everyone. Corey not only showed this love to his family but friends, coaches, teammates, teachers whether you were a cashier in a grocery store or a homeless person on the street he showed mad love to anyone who was in his presence. Corey was taken from this world far too soon but the light he brought into our lives will shine forever.
