Boston Curtis entered eternal rest at this residence on Friday, June 20, 2025, at the age of 89. He was a native of Carpenter, MS and a resident of Avondale, LA. Boston was a retired pipefitter supervisor with Avondale shipyards, where he worked for over 40 years until his retirement. Boston's passion for life was contagious, and he enjoyed good music, family gatherings, a nice drink, gardening, telling stories of the past, and, of course, Christmas holidays, which was his favorite time of the year. Beloved husband of the late Sweetie B. Lofton Curtis. Loving father of James (Kim) Curtis, Sr., Hazel Curtis (Clarence) Chaffin, Howard Curtis, Sr., Josephine Curtis (Delrick), Maxine Curtis, and Donna Marie Curtis Clark. Grandfather of Nakishia Curtis, Howard Curtis Jr., Tasha Curtis, James Curtis, Jr, Howard King, Sheneaka Collins, Tom Collins, Artrevia Curtis, and Terrence Curtis. Son of the late Love and Katie Fultz Curtis. Brother of the late Don and C.L. Curtis, Ola Mae Smith, Clonie Mae, and Sadie Curtis also survived by 23 great grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Special thanks to Vital Care Hospice staff member Codie Terrelle and others for the professional and devoted care given to the patient and his family. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Fresh Start Cathedral and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Fresh Start Cathedral 1542 Pailet St. Harvey, LA on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 10:00am.
