Temeka Patterson, age 45, was called to eternal home with the Lord on Friday, February 6, 2026, surrounded by her cherished family and friends. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Hammond, LA. Temeka was a 1999 graduate of L. W. Higgins High School and continued her studies at McNeese University in Lake Charles, LA and Southeastern University in Hammond, LA. A natural go-getter she held a variety of jobs throughout her life, but her passion truly flourished as a Licensed Insurance Agent at The Hartford. She also took pride in begin a member of the Mystic Krewe of Femme Fatale. Devoted mother of Ametra Cheeks. Beloved daughter of Clarence Patterson, Sr. and the late Ruby V. Patterson. Stepdaughter of Tanya Patterson. Granddaughter of the late Oscar and Gladys Valentine, Adam and Lois Patterson, and Alberta Gullage. Loving sister of Clarencia (Lisa) Reed, Tanjalia (Melvin) Dillard, Tatyana (Antonio) Ramirez, Tanjanea Patterson, Kenneth (Khristina) Patterson and Clarence (Lola) Patterson, Jr. Aunt of the late Redrin Patterson. Niece of the late Isabelle Tinson, Gladys Valentine, Larry Patterson, Thaddeus Valentine, and Jeff Sherman. Goddaughter of the late Cynthia Christopher. Temeka is also survived by her godchildren Donald Lafayette, Armani and Tahari Mitchell, and a host of aunts, uncles, 11 nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
