Corey J. Faniel

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved son, Corey J. (Justin) Faniel, 30, of Chicopee, Massachusetts. Corey passed away suddenly on June 20, 2025, at home.
Born on March 28, 1995, in Springfield, Massachusetts, Corey was the cherished son of Timothy M. (Yolanda) Faniel and Dawn A. Hall (Danny). From a young age, Corey was known as one of the kindest and most polite young men. Everyone he met consistently complimented him, remarking, "He was such a nice young man." His gentle nature was evident, and he was never heard to even raise his voice.
Corey was a quiet and independent spirit who found great joy in gaming and baseball. He had a passion for travel and fearlessly explored new places on his own, often expressing a desire "to see what it was like in other places." He particularly loved the beach, where he found immense peace. An avid gamer, Corey frequently traveled to Las Vegas, Nevada, and San Francisco, California, to participate in gaming tournaments.
Corey attended Sabis International Charter School and was a proud graduate of the High School of Commerce in 2012.
Corey leaves to mourn his passing his loving father, Timothy, and his stepmother, Yolanda Faniel; his mother, Dawn, and his stepfather, Danny. He is also survived by his big brother, Cameron, and sister-in-law, Tiffany; his big sister, Siri Streeter; his uncle, Steve Sr., and aunt, Luz Faniel; his aunt, Sandra, and uncle, Geoff Rumble; his cousins, Shannel Samms and her husband Chris, cousins Chad Rumble and his wife Emely. Aunt Leslie Ramsay, Aunt Joy Ramsay, Uncle John Ramsay. Kyle Faniel, Stephen Faniel Jr., and DãMonique Nickerson; cousins JoMary, Glen, and Jesse. Uncle Anthony Hatwood Sr., Derrick, and Auntie Dana Hatwood, and their children, Derrick Jr., Dion, Kayla, Alex, Jeremy. and Superman Danny. Cousin Anthony Tyson (Boxer) Corey also leaves behind many dear friends who will deeply miss him.
Corey was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Araminta Faniel, and his paternal grandfather, Leonard Sr.; his uncle, Leonard Jr.; his maternal grandmother, Barbara, and maternal grandfather, Percival Ramsay; his uncle, Desmond Ramsay; his cousin, Seki Hatwood. And his Auntie Arlene Friday (TiTi Lene) There will be a Memorial Service in honor of Corey on July 8th 11AM. 2025 at St. John's Congregational Church 45 Hancock St Springfield MA. 01109.
