Corey Mangan Obituary
Born in Waterbury, on August 11, 1987, Corey was the son of Kathleen (Thornton) Mangan and Thomas A. Mangan. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran, having served ten years which included one tour in Iraq and one tour in Afghanistan. A free spirit, Corey was funny, kind, and loyal. He loved his family and was a great friend to many people.
In addition to his parents, Corey is survived by his beloved children, his brother Andrew Mangan; his sister Kelly A. (Mangan) Francoeur and her husband Patrick; and his beloved nephews Nathan and Owen. He also leaves his stepmother Brenda Mangan; his aunts Diane Goffredo and her husband Joseph, Deborah Fusco and her husband Joseph, and Joan Santucci as well as his companion Dani Moreau and several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Alphonse and Marie Santucci, his paternal grandparents Thomas and Anne (Johnston) Mangan, his uncle Dennis Thornton, his aunts Pamela Mangan and Mary Mangan and his cousin Michael Thornton.
Calling hours for Corey will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 9:00-11:00am with a service from 11:00-11:30am at Maiorano Funeral Home, 95 Willow St., Waterbury. Burial with full military honors will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Corey's name may be made to: Wounded Warrior Project, Donor Care Center, P.O. To all of Corey´s family, and Dani, you have our deepest sympathy. He was a third son to me for many years, in and out of our home with my kids. He came to see David, Tyler and I in the fall of last year, and we had spoken on the phone a few times. That was when I learned all about Dani. May God bless you all and you will be in my thoughts and prayers.
