MT. GILEAD: Cory Lee Walters passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 22, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was 36.
He was born on June 7, 1988, in Mansfield, Ohio to Calvin and Suzanne (Keen) Walters. After graduating from Northmor High School in 2006, Cory went on to become a jack of all trades as he explored various career fields.
One of Cory's favorite things in life was to be outside, whether it was riding in the side-by-side, target shooting with his siblings, or even just enjoying a cold beverage as "one of the boys" – he was happiest outdoors. He also enjoyed entering his truck in the local truck and tractor pulls, as well as spending time with his many beloved "furry friends". Above all else though, Cory loved spending time with his family and friends who were his ever present support system throughout the years.
He is survived by his parents, Calvin and Suzanne Walters, brothers Harry (Katye) Walters and Luke Walters, grandmother Nellie Walters, grandfather Kip Johnson, aunts and uncles Cheri (Larry) Ulrey, Buster (Debra) Keen, Mike (Lisa) Keen, Pam (Rodney) Porter, Cindy (Tom) Burroughs, Steven Walters, Jill (David) Maddox, Frank (Kristy) Walters, numerous cousins, as well as extended uncles Jerry Hartman and Raymond Meadows.
The Walters family will receive friends on Friday, September 27, 2024, from 5-8 pm at the Snyder Funeral Home, Craven Chapel in Mt. Gilead Ohio. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 10:30 am. Burial to follow at Shauck Cemetery in Johnsville, Ohio.
