Costella Britton was born on May 11, 1935, to the union of the late Jesse and Hannah Britton in Winchester, Kentucky. The family later moved to Cincinnati, Ohio.
Her brothers, Eugene Britton and Jesse Britton Jr. (Elizabeth), preceded her in death.
Costella was a devoted and active member of Revelation Baptist Church until her illness.
She attended Cincinnati Public Schools and graduated from Woodward High School in 1952, where she majored in business. After graduation, she was employed at the University of Cincinnati Hospital until her retirement in 1985.
Costella was a quiet and thoughtful person. She loved to travel, work crossword puzzles, and garden.
She leaves to cherish her memory her niece and caretaker, Connie Britton; her faithful nephew, Kevin Britton; her sister-in-law, Sondra Britton (Eugene); and nephew Christopher Britton (Marilyn), who also preceded her in death. She is also survived by many great-nieces and great-nephews, as well as an extended family of cousins in Winchester and Lexington, Kentucky.
"God saw the road was getting rough and the hills were hard to climb. He gently closed her weary eyes and whispered, 'Peace be thine.'"
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm, on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at the Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills Chapel, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati (45206). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation, beginning at 3:00 pm. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy she leaves behind.
She will be laid to rest at Walnut Hills Cemetery, 3117 Victory Parkway, Cincinnati, Ohio 45206.
