Courtney "Cork" Gerard Kinnett, age 69, of Beavercreek, OH passed away on Friday August 1, 2025, at his home. He was born in Waukegan, Illinois, on January 25, 1956, to the late Norman H. and Rose Ann (Francis) Kinnett. Courtney is survived by one son: Courtney Kinnett II, Edgewater, FL; two brothers and sister-in-law: Jeff Kinnett, Greenville, N.C.; John (Dawn) Kinnett, Edgington, WI; one sister: Kathy Kinnett- Peth, Tomah, WI; and two grandchildren: Collin Kinnett and Hayley Kinnett. Courtney was preceded in death by one son: Joshua Michael Kinnett, two brothers: Norman Joseph Kinnett, and Rickey Joseph Kinnett.
Courtney graduated from Piqua Central High School in 1974. He served his country in the U.S. Army National Guard. He became an Ironworker out of Local # 290 in Dayton, Ohio, where he gave 30 years of service. Courtney loved God and was an avid outdoorsman. He would spend his time in nature hunting, fishing and enjoying the great outdoors. He especially loved spending time with his family.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Courtney will be held at 10:30am on Friday August 8,2025 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Piqua, OH, with the Rev. Fr. Eric Bowman, Celebrant. Burial to immediately follow at Miami Memorial Park in Covington, OH. The family will receive friends from 9:00 am to 10:00 am prior to mass at Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home in Piqua, Ohio.
