Courtney Poynter, a beloved nurse, devoted mother, and cherished friend, passed away on October 15, 2025. She was born in Glasgow, on September 22, 1990. Known for her compassion and tireless dedication in her nursing career, Courtney touched the lives of many through her profession and her personal commitments.
Courtney leaves a profound legacy as a vibrant and dedicated family member. She is survived by her loving husband, Joshua Poynter, and their beautiful children: Waylon, Courtney, Paxton, and Denver. The warmth of her love extended to her sister, Erica Hildreth, and her brother, Jacob Montgomery. Courtney’s parents, Jim and Deborah Montgomery, are left to honor her memory, as are her cherished nieces and nephews: Alli Spillman, Nora Spillman, Wyatt Hildreth, Annalyn Hildreth, Emmett Hildreth, Aubrey Massey, Tucker Massey, Clayton Cross, Zella Poynter, Zoey Poynter, and Jason Montgomery.
In addition to her family, Courtney was preceded in death by her father, Bary Vance, and her maternal and paternal grandparents.
She was known as Auntie C, she loved nothing more than to watch her children and nieces and nephews at their many sporting events. She cherished traveling with her family and lived every moment to the fullest. Her approach to life was always bold, joyful, and full of extravagance.
Courtney's life will be celebrated with visitation services held at Coral Hill Baptist Church in Glasgow on Sunday, October 19, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Monday from 9:00 AM until time for the service. The funeral service at the same location on Monday, October 20, 2025, at 12:00 PM. Burial will be in Buckley Cemetery.
As we remember Courtney Poynter, let us hold tight to the love she shared, the joys she brought into our lives, and the meaningful moments that she so passionately embraced. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
