Courtney Shiflett

Courtney Shiflett, 25, of Cheboygan, formerly of Dowagiac, passed away tragically early Monday morning, August 18, 2025.

She was born on April 5, 2000, in Niles, Michigan, the daughter of Keith Shiflett and Dawn Parker.

Courtney grew up in both South Haven before moving to Cheboygan in 2014. In 2015, she moved to Marquette and was a 2018 graduate of Marquette Senior High School. She loved art and music. She will be remembered by all who knew her.

Surviving are her son, Roman Coons; mother, Dawn Parker; grandmother, Carol (Brad West) Martin; great-grandmothers, Linda Martin and Margaret O'Keefe; siblings, Jordan (Autumn Collins) Shiflett, Devin (Jose Galvan) Shiflett, and Angel Bowling; six nieces and nephews, Phoenix, Julian, Isaac, Isabellah, Luciano, and Amelia; twelve aunts and uncle, Ashley, Tom, Sue, Mark, Arnie, Kirk, Ted, Tammy, Priscilla, Bob, Kenny and Kay; and numerous extended family and friends.

Preceding her in death were her father, Keith Shiflett; and grandparents, Les and Cecilia Keson, and Tom Martin.

A service to celebrate Courtney's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 23, at Clark Chapel – Starks Family Funeral Homes, 405 Center St, Dowagiac, where friends may visit with Courtney's family from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
