Reverend Coy Wayne Baker, age 83 of Bradshaw West Virginia passed away peacefully, Saturday August 8th at his residence. He was surrounded by family. He was born April 12, 1942. Coy was a member of the #2 Yukon Community Church where he pastored many years. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Drewy Baker and Bessie Kyne, as well as a special Aunt, Opal Baker, who also helped raise him. Brothers Kenneth Baker and Freddie Kyne. And one daughter, Sondra.

Coy was married to his loving wife Evelyn for 63 wonderful years. He provided for his family as a coal miner where he retired after 30 years. He served the Lord for 55 years and was a member of the #2 Yukon community Church where he also pastored many years.

Coy was a loving husband and father. He loved the Lord and shared about Jesus with everyone he met. He prayed for his family along with many neighbors and friends faithfully every day. He read through the Bible many times. He loved to share this testimony I am about to share with you. When he was a young man, he got home from church one night he went out to the car to get his guitar. he looked up and a small cloud came over a pear tree in a vision. A man appeared in the cloud wearing a long garment, a dome hat, and there were sandals on his feet. He said he held his hands out. At the time he didn't understand what it meant but as he began to learn the word the lord gave him Revelation. The garment was a Priests garment and he was blessing hm. His family always had favor with their needs met. We saw miracles many times when it seemed there was no way. He was a hard worker and cherished his wife and children. He would get excited when his sister Joyce would come to visit all the way from Yuma AZ. Coy was loved all by all who knew him.

If there is one last thing he would want to say to his family, is that he loves them and he wants them to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

He is survived by his wife Evelyn Baker, five sons, Timothy (Donna) Baker of Beckley West Virginia, David (Lisa) Baker of North Wilkesboro North Carolina, John (Melissa) Baker of Roaring River NC, Coy Lee (Cary) Baker of Roaring River NC, and Drew Baker of the home. One daughter, Dawanna (Michael) Lewis of Asheville North Carolina. Eight grandchildren, Kimberly (Bryant) Kesler, Rachel Hagerman, Hannah (Taylor) Williams, Johnathan (Sara) Baker, Tyler Baker, Colton Baker, Joshua Baker, and Josiah (Samantha) Baker. He also has one sister, Joyce (James) Kiser, niece Deborah (Craig) Demos, and nephew Randy (Lorie) Kiser.
