Craig Thomas Keehn, aged 73, a longtime resident of Howell, Michigan, passed away on June 25, 2025. Born on April 20, 1952, Craig was a man with a laid-back vibe, and a calm presence.
Craig's story began in the industrious town of Flint, Michigan, where he was born to the late Carl and Joan Keehn, before moving to Cohoctah, Michigan, where he was raised. After graduating from Howell High School in 1970, Craig's life took a joyful turn when he met his future wife, Debbie, at a party in 1973. The connection was immediate, and just a short time later, on January 12, 1974, Craig and Debbie were married. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, welcoming their children Michele and Brian.
Craig is survived by his wife of 51 years, Debbie. He is also survived by his daughter, Michele (Christopher) Schulz. Enriching Craig's life further is the joy of granddaughters, Nora and Zoey. His role as 'Papa' was one he cherished above all others, savoring every moment spent with his beloved granddaughters. Craig also leaves behind his siblings, Charles (Patricia) Keehn, Colin (Nancy Klynstra) Keehn, Celeste (Eric) Keehn-Simonsen, and Cheryl (Kenneth) Kastning.
Though his heart never fully recovered from the loss of his dear son, Brian, in 2007, nor from the earlier departures of his mother and his siblings Carla (Terry) Cleveland, and Christopher Keehn, Craig remained a steadfast presence in the lives of his family, offering strength and warmth in equal measure.
Craig's passions extended beyond the family hearth. He absolutely loved Chevrolet Corvettes, cherishing his 2001 Corvette, which he enjoyed cruising along the Michigan roads as if every journey was an adventure waiting to be had. Beyond driving, he was an avid collector of model cars, transforming his appreciation for automotive beauty into a tangible homage within his home.
Moreover, Craig found delight in driving his Traxxas RC Trucks. This was a pastime that was well-known amongst friends and family, as he would often be found with a controller in hand, and a big smile on his face. This hobby, much like his love for Corvettes, reflected a man who found pleasure in the simple thrills of life and motion. He loved the outdoors, often spending weekends at their summer home near Petoskey, Michigan, in Alanson. The peaceful lake up north was his go-to spot for relaxation. He was always there for anyone who needed him, offering help with a smile on his face. Not only will he be remembered by his calm presence, but by his dry sense of humor.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, for a visitation from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM, at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, MacDonald Chapel. 315 N. Michigan Ave., Howell, MI 48843. A funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Howell Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a memorial contribution to the family for further delegation. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family online at www.WatkinsFuneralHomes.com.
