Craig Piirto, 55, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025. Born in September 1970 in Okinawa, Japan, Craig was the cherished son of David and Carolyn Piirto. As an Air Force child, he moved often throughout his early years, developing adaptability, curiosity, and an ability to connect easily with others.

Craig later settled in Texas, graduating from John Marshall High School in San Antonio before proudly becoming a Texas Aggie. He went on to build a fulfilling 30-year career in agriculture across Corpus Christi and the South Texas region, forming many long-term professional and personal relationships that he deeply valued.

Craig found joy in time spent with his two beloved mini dachshunds. He was an avid football fan, both college and professional, and a talented amateur chef whose cooking brought friends and family together. Known for his thoughtful, well-researched perspectives on politics and current events, Craig loved meaningful conversation and friendly debate, often spending hours talking with the people around him.

Craig is survived by his parents, David and Carolyn Piirto of New Mexico; his brother, Keith Piirto of San Antonio, Texas; and his sister, Hanni Piirto of Dallas, Texas. He will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, colleagues, and all who knew him.
