Creede Allen Baer, age 26, passed away suddenly on July 18, 2025. His life, though heartbreakingly brief, was filled with boldness, adventure, and a love for the world, reflected in the very meaning of his name.

His parents didn’t know the meaning of “Creede Allen” when they chose it, but no other name could have suited him more. Creede, meaning “Power in Faith,” and Allen, meaning “One with Nature,” captured his free spirit perfectly. He lived fearlessly and with a deep love of God’s creation, and his life was one adventure after another. Whether he was snowboarding or hiking in the Rockies, biking through Palo Duro Canyon, learning to waterski, slacklining, or just riding his giraffe unicycle around town because it was something different than anyone else, Creede loved to be in motion, going fast, blasting booming bass, and chasing his next horizon.

Creede accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in his early teens. We can only imagine The Ultimate adventure it must have been when he saw Jesus face-to-face.

He graduated from West Texas A&M University in May 2020 with a degree in Finance and was a top performing sales professional at Street Volkswagen before embarking on a highly successful career as a Registered Representative and Agent for New York Life, earning multiple achievement awards during his 2 years there.

He is survived by his fiercely loving “Momma Baer,” Shirlene of Amarillo, and his father, Beau and wife Dixie of Amarillo. He also leaves behind his adoring sister and best friend, Chloe (he was “Bubba” to her), and her partner, Jaron Smith of Lubbock; as well as his cherished sister, Krislyn Ann Baer, and her partner, Eli Knox of Lubbock.

His grandparents, all of whom deeply loved him, include his beloved grandmother, Pat Dye of Amarillo; grandfather, Jerry Dye and wife Lynn of Spring, Texas; and grandmothers Rosetta Dunigan and Peggy Baer, both of Amarillo. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Duwain Baer of Amarillo.

Creede is lovingly remembered by his former wife and supportive family friend, Emilie Matznick of Mount Laurel, New Jersey.

He leaves behind a large and loving extended family: Uncle Troy Dye and Aunt Tracy of Carrollton, Texas; Uncle Chet Dye and Aunt Robin of The Woodlands, Texas; cousins Scott Dye and wife Caroline of Richardson, Texas; Maggie Dye of Nashville, Tennessee; Dillon Dye and wife Amy of Tomball, Texas; and Darbi Elvin and husband Jacob of Conroe, Texas. He is also survived by three nephews, Kyler Winnett, River Knox, and Blue Knox, plus two first cousins once removed, Brody Elvin and Luke Dye.

Creede was one of a kind and was loved by everyone who knew him. He made friends effortlessly, welcoming people from every corner of life, whether they were jocks, free spirits, or those who didn’t quite fit society’s norms. He never judged – he only embraced. His passing leaves a void in many lives, but the stories of his laughter, adventures, and generous heart will be shared by those who knew and loved him, and his memory will be a light they carry forward.

The family will receive guests at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia, on Thursday, July 24, 2025 from 6 pm to 7:30 pm. Creede’s life will be celebrated at Central Church of Christ, 1401 S. Madison, in the Auditorium, on Friday, July 25, 2025 at 2 pm, with his uncle Troy Dye, and Allan Stanglin presiding.
