Crocetta Gaglio Obituary
Crocifissa "Crocetta" Gaglio, age 84, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Beloved wife of Joseph for 62 cherished years. Loving mother of Jackie Gaglio, Rose Gaglio, Peter, and Sal (Rebecca). Proud grandmother of Joseph, Jordan, Jacob, and Ariana. Dear sister of Maria (the late Vincenzo) Purpura and Rosaria Maniaci, and preceded in death by her brother Giacomo Maniaci. Crocetta is deeply loved and missed by her extended family and many friends.
Born in Montelepre, Sicily, Crocetta came to the United States in 1964 and proudly became a U.S. citizen in 2015. She brought with her a deep love of family, faith, and tradition. A woman of many talents, she had a beautiful singing voice, a gifted hand in the garden, and a remarkable ability in the kitchen. Cooking for her family brought her immense joy, and she poured her heart into every meal.
Crocetta was a devoted grandmother and the center of her family's world. Incredibly selfless, she always put others before herself, offering love, care, and strength to everyone around her. Together with Joseph, she traveled to visit her cherished grandchildren and occasionally returned to her beloved Sicily.. The couple enjoyed participating in local Italian social events and were proud members of the Sons of Sicily Club.
Her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, July 10, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary at Bagnasco & Calcaterra Funeral Home, 13650 Fifteen Mile Road, Sterling Heights. She will lie in state on Friday, July 11, at 9:30 a.m. until the time of a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at San Francesco Catholic Church, 22870 S. Nunneley Road, Clinton Township. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township.
