Beaumont Police Lt. Curtis Dwayne Breaux, 60, of Fannett, died Friday, July 11, 2025. He was born on July 27, 1964, to Pat and Curtis Breaux.
He loved his family. Whether he was coaching a sport, attending a dance recital or planning a family vacation, he was there, with coffee in hand, of course. He loved the beach. He loved bringing his family on vacations – Disney, Destin, Graceland, Las Vegas, New York – and so much more. He filled their lives with memories that they will never forget.
He and his wife, Lisa, enjoyed visiting Las Vegas, going to the casinos in Lake Charles, taking drives down to the beach, cruising the drag, and so much more. He never left her without a kiss on the forehead. They were high school sweethearts and his love for her will always be remembered.
He was the hardest working man. When he was not in his role as a Beaumont Police Officer – he was the entrepreneur of entrepreneurs. He always had a "new business idea" – most likely from all of his late nights in his chair in the garage. He loved his law enforcement family. He served with the Beaumont Police Department for 39 years, most recently assigned as the Commander of the Traffic Unit. He was a trusted supervisor, a steady presence, and a friend to many throughout the department.
He loved his grandchildren Alyssa and Olivia Breaux. He did anything for his buddies. He loved dressing up for all of the fun holidays with them, having lunch with Alyssa at school, letting Olivia turn his lights on and pushing all the buttons in his police car, swimming with them and so much more. He loved those girls more than anything. He was looking forward to meeting his grandson, Baylor, in the fall.
His presence will be deeply missed by all but his smile, laugh and memory will never be forgotten.
Dwayne is survived by his devoted wife of 37 years, Lisa Breaux; his children, Alex Breaux and his wife, Lyndsie Breaux; Lauren Breaux Brady and her husband, David Brady; Kaylee Breaux; and his cherished grandchildren, Alyssa Breaux, Olivia Breaux and his grandson on the way, Baylor Breaux. Dwayne is also survived by his brother, Steven Breaux and his wife, Nicky Breaux and their children, and his mother, Pat Breaux. He is preceded in death by his grandparents and his dad, Curtis Breaux.
