FRANKLIN – Curtis William Franklin, age 79 of Lawrenceville, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2025. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday on June 4, 2025, in the Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home in Lawrenceville with Preacher Tim Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Gwinnett Memorial Park in Lawrenceville. A Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 PM on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at the funeral home. Curtis was a 1964 graduate of Duluth High School. He retired from General Motors Doraville as a Health and Safety Representative and President of the Local UAW 34. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, a member of Sweeterwater Masonic Lodge #421 where he was the past Worshipful Master, and in the Army Reserves. Curtis enjoyed woodworking, golfing with his brothers, gardening, and most of all spending time with family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Vera (Wells) Franklin and brother, Gary Franklin. Curtis is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Joyce (Hamrick) Franklin, Lawrenceville, GA; daughter, Stephanie (Ben) Archer, Bethlehem, GA; son, Chris (Jennifer) Franklin, Lawrenceville, GA; grandchildren, Julia (Nick) Clark, Jared Archer, Evie Archer, Josh Franklin, Cana Franklin; great granddaughter, Violet Clark; brothers, Doug (Linda) Franklin; Tommy (Betty) Franklin; and Harold (Beverly) Franklin; sisters-in-law, Yvonne Franklin and Cindy Hamrick; brother-in-law, Jeff (Andrea) Hamrick; mother-in-law, Annie Hamrick; and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff at Northside Hospital Gwinnett in the PCU and ICU for the care given to Curtis, especially to Lucy Hernandez.
