Curtis L. Gorsuch, 56, of Canton, passed away at 5:26 PM on Monday, June 9, 2025 at his residence. He was born on August 19, 1968 in Canton, a son of Donald L. and Kathy (Sebree) Gorsuch. He married Christine Wilcoxen on February 18, 1989 in Havana. She survives.
Also, surviving are his children, Derek (Wendy Walker) Gorsuch of Macomb; Jessica (Kody) Gravitt of Canton; four grandchildren, which were the light of his life, Hunter, Nehemiah, Hayden, Valentina; brothers, Brian (Amy) Gorsuch of Cuba; Daniel (Leslie) Gorsuch of Farmington; sister, Kim Gorsuch of St. Louis, Missouri, and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding, Curtis in death were his parents.
Curtis worked along his father and brothers at Gorsuch Appliance in Canton for several years, and later owned & operated Gorsuch Realty & Auction in Canton for over 20 years, as he was very involved in the community, helping others when needed, volunteering at benefit auctions throughout the years. He cherished fishing, time spent at the Lake of the Ozarks, camping, playing cards, and watching St. Louis Cardinal baseball. His professional pursuits included auctioneering, real estate sales, and community service, but his greatest joy was the love he had for his grandchildren, and family. He was a member of the Morning Star Masonic Lodge #734 in Canton.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, June 16, 2025 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory, where Masonic rites will begin at 7:00 PM. Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation. Memorials can be made to the Curtis Gorsuch scholarship fund in care of Ipava State Bank in Canton. Christine and family: I just learned today of the passing of Curtis. I am deeply sorry for your loss. You both have been so good to me on picking up my auction items. Now, I would like to offer this Masonic tribute to Curtis as he and I are both members of the fraternity, "Soft and safe be the earthly bed of our brother; bright and glorious be his rising from it. Fragrant be the acacia sprig which shall flourish there. May the earliest buds of spring unfold their beauties over his resting place, and, in the bright morning of the world's resurrection, may his soul spring into newness of life and expand into immortal beauty in realms beyond the skies. Until then, dear friend and brother, until then-Farewell!" Please accept my profound sympathy.

Curtis was an excellent neighbor at The Lake of the Ozarks, following in the footsteps of Paul and Dottie his grandparents. I´ve seen Curt catch many fish. Nothing compares to the joy he had when his grandchildren would land a fish, no matter how big. I´m glad to have called him my friend.
