Curtis Joe Hendrickson, 59, of South Hutchinson, died October 17, 2024, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. He was born May 23, 1965, in Hutchinson, to Donnie J. and Phyllis L. (Kunzie) Hendrickson.
Curtis graduated from Hutchinson High School. He served in the United States Navy from 1986-1988. Curtis worked as a welder for a time and then went to work at Hustler, in Hesston, as a 3D tooling engineer for over 12 years. Music was Curtis' life, playing guitar and singing in his band, Redline, for many years.
On October 18, 1985, he married Dana L. Miller, in Hutchinson. They raised 3 sons together.
Curtis is survived by: his sons, Derek Hendrickson of Englewood, CO, Dustin Hendrickson (Leigha) of West Hills, CA, Nathan Hendrickson (Courtney) of Hastings, NE; grandchildren, Jayson Hendrickson of Belleville, Emersyn Hendrickson of Hastings, NE; sister, Kim Elliott (Mike) of South Hutchinson; nephews, Matt Elliott (Brandy) of South Hutchinson, Christian Elliott (Jessie) of McPherson; great-nieces, Kaedynce and Kadeyn Elliott; uncles, Thomas Kunzie (Becky) of Hutchinson, Raymond Kunzie of Wichita; and many extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an uncle, Joseph Kunzie.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Elliott Chapel. Cremation will follow.
The service will be livestreamed and the link to view it below will be active beginning 15 minutes prior to the service.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with family present to receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Curtis Hendrickson Memorial Fund, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
