Marilyn M. Post, 74, died August 11, 2025, at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita. She was born on February 1, 1951, in Great Bend, to Aloysius Francis "Louie" and Elizabeth Agnes "Betty" (Ackermann) Gerritzen.

Marilyn graduated from Claflin High School in 1969 and attended Barton County Community College. She worked at Electrex, Hutchinson, assisting in wire harnessing, and later she worked at Stutzman's and Home Depot in the greenhouse. Marilyn enjoyed life; she loved to spend time in Carey Park watching the water fountains with her dog, Sandy. Marilyn liked to read and take care of her plants and flowers.

Marilyn is survived by: her sister, Janet Weseloh of Sylvan Grove; companion of over 15 years, Steve Behrendt of Hutchinson; former husband, Jerry Post of Hutchinson; many nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and beloved dog, Sandy.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; sisters, Sharlene (Art) Reichard, Joanne (Leon) Hamm, Carol (Floyd) Davis; and brother-in-law, Donald Weseloh.

Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 22, 2025, at Elliott Mortuary, with luncheon to follow at Dillon Nature Center, 3002 E 30th Ave, Hutchinson. Private family burial will take place at a later date in Pleasant View Cemetery, Claflin. Friends may sign the book 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday until the day of the service.
