Curtis Wayne McCary, age 82, of Verbena, Alabama, passed away peacefully at his residence on June 17, 2025.
Born on October 2, 1942, in Alabama, Curtis was the son of the late Robert and Margie McCary. A dedicated and hardworking man, he spent his career as a logger, a profession he took great pride in throughout his life.
Curtis is survived by his loving wife, Betty McCary, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will remember him with deep affection. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Hymon McCary, Harold McCary, Calvin McCary, and Alvin McCary.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Chestnut Creek Baptist Church. Services will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Chestnut Creek Baptist Church, with Bro. Jimmy Simpler, Rev. Orlando Weeks, Elbert Simon, and Tony Byrd officiating. Burial will follow at Cooper Community Cemetery in Verbena, Alabama.
