Curtis Rininger

C.A. (Curtis) Rininger, age 74, of Schaller, Iowa died December 5, 2025 at Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.

Celebration of Life services will take place Thursday, December 11, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Schaller Presbyterian Church in Schaller. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the CHURCH. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Schaller EMT's and Schaller Fire Department at PO Box 142 Schaller, Iowa 51053. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Schaller is in charge of the arrangements.

Curtis Arthur Rininger was born July 9, 1951, the son of Oren and Gretchen (Helmke) Rininger in Schaller. He attended Schaller School, graduating in 1969. C.A. went on to attend Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska.

On July 18, 1981, C.A. was united in marriage to Terri at Schaller Presbyterian church. They were blessed with two children: Cody and Whitney.

C.A. worked as a medical technician in Kansas City, then came home to farm with his father. He enjoyed farming for the next thirty years. After moving home, C.A. attended Buena Vista University in Storm Lake where he obtained his Business Degree. He worked as a Commodity Broker for over ten years. He also thoroughly enjoyed his Sports Card Business. After retirement, C.A. stayed busy working "full-time" at Midnight Sun with Terri.

Serving the Schaller community was important to C.A. He served as an EMT and was the Schaller Chamber President for twenty-five years. He was also a former Lion's Club member.

On gameday, you could find C.A. cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes or Green Bay Packers with his family. He also enjoyed heavy metal concerts with Cody and talking WNBA basketball with Whitney. More than anything, Curtis treasured time with his family. He especially looked forward to time with his grandkids and was a familiar face in the crowd at their activities.

Left to cherish C.A.'s memory include his beloved wife, Terri of Schaller, Iowa; children: Cody Rininger of Moville, Iowa; Whitney Rininger of Dakota City, Nebraska; grandchildren: Cole, Avery, Adelyn, and Corbin Rininger; great-grandchild: Remy Rininger; sisters: Marcia (Jim) Haugen; Lisa (Kelly) Meusburger; siblings-in-law: Steve Whitney; Angi Whitney; Cindy (Ron) Reckamp; extended family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oren and Gretchen Rininger, and parents-in-law: Harry and Sukey Whitney.
