Curtis Ray Thomas, 70, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 31, 2026 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Superintendent David Haynes officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.
Curtis was born in Paris, Texas to Jimmy Sr. and Shirley Jean (Crain) Thomas. He graduated from Tulia High School in 1974 and embarked on a journey that encompassed both hard work and heartfelt connections. Curtis built his own lawn service business while also faithfully serving the City of Plainview, where he spent many cherished years.
In 2012, Curtis married Stephanie Wiley from Crosbyton. Their partnership was a testament to love and companionship, and together they created countless memories filled with laughter and joy.
He was known affectionately as "giggling Curtis," his infectious laughter and vibrant spirit brought warmth to all those around him. He had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel at ease, spreading happiness with his natural gift of humor. Family was everything to Curtis; he adored spending time with them, always finding ways to make them smile.
A devoted member of Jackson Chapel in Tulia, Curtis used his talents to enhance his community by running the sound system, allowing others to connect with their faith through music. He was not just a member of his family; he was a cherished brother, uncle, and friend to many, leaving behind an enduring legacy of kindness and compassion.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy and Shirley Jean Thomas; his wife, Stephanie Wiley Thomas; his grandmother, Flordie Reynolds.
