Curtis L. Williams, warm heartedly known to his family as "Buddy," was born on August 7, 1950 in Windsor, NC. He moved to Bridgeport, CT as a teen where he graduated from Harding High School. Curtis went into the Military in 1971 and after serving in the U.S. Army, he was honorably discharged and returned to Connecticut. Curtis began working for General Electric as a Security Guard and Laidlaw Transit as a School Bus Driver. He was employed at General Electric and Laidlaw for over 30 years until he retired. He was also president of Seaview Gardens for over 40 years. Curtis was deeply committed to his family. In 1972, he married the love of his life, Victoria. In their beautiful union they had a son, Curtis and a daughter, Chrystal. Curtis and Victoria enjoyed 52 years of marriage. He was a true definition of a faithful partner, committed spouse and their relationship was a true example of real love. Brother Curtis was sincere, determined, independent, funny, strong, helpful, smart, hardworking, caring, ethical, punctual, generous, upstanding, protective, dedicated, dependable, driven, outgoing and extremely kindhearted. Although kind, he was nobody's pushover and wasn't afraid to let you know if you tried him. He definitely would not tolerate any disrespect. Brother Curtis Williams was a proud member of the Confraternity Lodge #125 of Norwalk, CT (32°), Frenz, Port 5, and Small Game Club. Curtis was so much fun to be around, simply one-of-a-kind and irreplaceable. He made his presence known and you couldn't help but smile when you heard his loud, infectious laugh. Curtis truly enjoyed hunting, fishing, grilling, playing cards, mathematics, gardening, traveling, telling jokes, and finding great deals at the supermarket. Curtis was a devoted husband and extraordinary father and grandfather. He took pleasure in spending time with his two mothers and all of his siblings who he loved wholeheartedly. He is survived by his wife, Victoria Williams; his daughter, Chrystal Williams; grandchildren, Curtis Williams, III, O'monte Williams and Tori Williams; his mothers, Rose Williams and Sadie Smallwood; his siblings, Haywood (Annie), Cynthia ( Webster), Johnnie (Marsha), Obie Dennis, David (Renee), Robert (Sharon), Darick (Kimberly), James (Joyce Ann), Larry (Regina), Michael (Tress), Viola (Ernie), Rosa (Johnnie), Wendy (Eric), Thomas Smallwood, Sadie Lee Smallwood and Kim Christian. He was predeceased by his son, Curtis Williams, Jr.; fathers, Lindbergh Smallwood and Raymond Williams; a sister, Dorothy Watson; and brothers, Raymond Williams and Charles Smallwood.
