Cyndi Downes-Green Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 1, 2025.
Cyndi (Cynthia) Alissa Downes-Green was born on April 29, 1956 and passed away on March 29, 2025.
She was preceded in death by her father, Llewelyn "Gugu" Downes; mother, Eunice Edwards; brother, Conrad "Conny"; sister, Tasha; and son, Khaleel McLean I. She is survived by her husband, Jarius Green; mother in-law, Alice Jackson; daughters-in-law, Jayonna and Jaylin; sisters: Juliet "Millie", and Kerry; brothers: Edward "Goldie", Leo "Danny", Patrick (Marie), Linval, Ishmael, and Steve (Bridget); sisters-in-law, Charryse Shell and Linda Sherman; brother-in-law, Jamar Jackson; son, Kyan Julius; grandchildren: Kya Julius, Khaleel McLean II, and Eva Julius; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of loving friends.
Cyndi's early education was at Paul Island Primary School and when she came to the U.S. and resided in New York, she attended Bronx Community College. She completed her higher education at Lincoln University in Pennsylvania where she earned her graduate/master's degree. She resided in the Bronx and worked at Martin Paint. Then, she moved to New Jersey and worked for different mental health facilities with her last job being at Kirkbride Center
To know Cyndi was to love her and she loved you just as much. She was the kind of person that would literally take the shirt off her back if you needed it; not to mention, it was going to be a nice shirt because she was always the BEST DRESSED. She was the life of the party and loved being around people. She absolutely loved family time (even if you were a friend that means you were considered family). If you were at a distance, that just meant you were only a phone call away, but that was probably going to be an hour (or more) phone call. Cyndi made the most out of those moments and they were special to her. She so enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Each of them have such special places in her heart.
She will always be remembered by many family members, friends, coworkers, classmates, and so many other others whose lives she touched. Words cannot describe how much she will be missed. Cyndi will always be cherished in our hearts. Cyndi's Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at 8;30 AM, followed by a service 9:15 AM, located at Ashbury Community Church.
