Obituary published on Legacy.com by Watkins Heritage Chapel - Kansas City on Oct. 1, 2025.
Dr. Stacia Renee' Bradley-Brown began her life September 19, 1953 in
Kansas City, Missouri. Stacia was born to the late Dr. Cortez Jackson Bradley and the late Mrs. Juanella Mae Lloyd Bradley. The second born child of the family, she came up with her big sister Teresina Bradley and little brother Cortez J. Bradley, II.
From a young age, Stacia proved to be smart, extraordinarily independent, driven, and maybe a bit stubborn. She was a natural scholar and academic, fiercely supported by her parents. At the young age of 16 years old, Stacia graduated a year early from Southeast High School and began her collegiate studies at University of Missouri Kansas City (UMKC). A year into her studies, Stacia craved a sense of community and an institution that could provide not only higher education but would seek to understand and uplift her. Her search ended at Lincoln University in Jefferson City, MO.
At Lincoln University, Stacia charged head first into her studies, majoring in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Speech Pathology and Audiology. Early in her tenure at LU, Stacia's educational talents did not go unnoticed and she was soon approached by Archie Lee Brown. Never one to leave a colleague in need Stacia and Archie struck up a partnership. A partnership, that grew into friendship which blossomed into love. Stacia and Archie thrived together, with both graduating LU in 1974, with Stacia attaining her B.A. with an emphasis on Speech Pathology & Audiology.
Stacia served and uplifted students at several elementary schools within the Kansas City Public School System as a Speech Pathologist & Audiologist, Teacher, and Vice-Principal before taking her first principalship at Woodland Elementary School. This leadership role was just the beginning as Stacia's magnum opus was serving as KCPS Executive Director of Schools before retiring. Never one to rest when there is more to accomplish, Stacia came full circle and joined the KCK Public School System as an educational coach. Stacia's reputation for results and passion for educational excellence was made apparent and she was soon offered a principalship and soon thereafter another Executive Director position in KCK, in which she served faithfully before finally retiring in 2018.
Now one would think Stacia would finally rest. Stacia could never rest when there was a goal to accomplish and people to uplift. Her next mission would see her appointed to the Lincoln University Board of Curators in September of 2020. She served her Alma mater in that capacity faithfully and with great pride up until the day she went to be with the lord.
In addition to being a servant leader in educational institutions, Stacia was active with the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority for over 50 years becoming a Golden Soror.
As an educator, Stacia mentored many teachers and administrators with her goal to make an impact on them for the betterment of the students. She left this world better place.
She leaves to cherish her memory her son Bradley (Debra). Grandchildren: Alyssa, Ayden. She was preceded in death by her parents. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister, Teresina J. Bradley and brother, Cortez J. Bradley, II. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and coworkers who will remember her fondly.
