Cynthia Ann Atnip (Leverett)
Cynthia Ann Atnip (Leverett) passed from this life into the arms of Jesus on May 14th, 2025, at the young age of 63.
Cindy was born on February 18th, 1962, in Dallas to Barbara and David Leverett. She was the loving sister to Carla Brown and Stephanie Hilliard. She married Douglas Atnip on February 18th, 1988, and shared 36 years of marriage before he passed from this world. They expanded their family with two children; Ryan and Kimberly.
Cindy was a free spirit and was unapologetically herself. Her laugh was contagious, and she was THE life of the party everywhere she went. Her personality was bigger than her hair in the 80's. She loved bossing people around, especially her grandkids. She had a heart of gold and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends listening to music and having a glass of wine (with ice)
Although the last few months were filled with doctor's appointments and stress, she somehow persevered and managed to laugh through the pain and the uncertainty of what lay ahead. She fought the good fight and we have peace knowing she has been made new and is no longer suffering.
Not many people get the honor of having the same friend through every season of life but there is something so beautiful about having a long term friend that has witnessed multiple versions of you and loved you unconditionally through each version. Terry Keown and Cindy shared 51 years of friendship; meeting when they were just 12 years old.
Cindy is proceeded in death by her mother, Barbara Leverett. Brother-in-law, Kenny Hilliard. Husband, Doug Atnip.
She leaves behind her father; David Leverett, sister and brother-in-law; Carla and Jimmy Brown, sister Stephanie Hilliard, brother-in-law, Stu Atnip, son, Ryan Atnip, daughter, Kimberly Atnip, stepson Brandon Atnip, five grandchildren Haylee, Hayden, Makayla, Layla & Zoey, nieces Jennifer Duvall and Kaleigh Goff, nephews Brandon Leverett and Justin Hilliard, and many great nieces and nephews.
Death may take you from this world, but it will never take you from our hearts.
Celebration of life services for Cindy will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 20th, 2025 at Trinity Lighthouse Church in Denison, Texas
