Cynthia Marie "Cindy" McDowell Walters, age 59 of Louisville passed away Saturday, September 21, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family. She was the former head cook at Hardees on Fern Valley Rd after 33 years. She was a member of Cherry Springs Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, and playing cards with family especially Kanasta.

She is the daughter of the late Eugene McDowell and the late Aloma Hawkins McDowell.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Steve Walters, Louisville, KY; her daughter, Shelbie Lynn Thompson and her husband Aaron, Louisville, KY; one granddaughter, Ila Mary-Lillian Thompson; eight sisters, Deborah Clack (Jim), Pamela Austin (Pierce), Anna Tanner, Elizabeth Morgan (Bud), Patricia Lutterman (Gary), Gloria Ragland (Jeff), Beverly Harper (Ricky), Jennifer Dudgeon (Michael); four brothers, Leon McDowell (Ruth), Ed McDowell, William McDowell (Karen), Chris McDowell (Sarah); Aunt Gladys Campbell; cousins, Regina Adams, Lisa Elliott (Mike), Elita McCubbins, Sherry Johnson, and Tim Logsdon (Gale).

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM- 8:00 PM CT on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, again from 8:00 AM-8:00 PM CT on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, and again from 8:00 AM -12:00 PM on Thursday, September 26, 2024 all at Brooks Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM CT on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Brooks Funeral Home with Bro. Ric Logsdon officiating. Burial will follow at Cherry Springs Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
