Cynthia Louise Jaafar, 57, of Concord, passed away Friday, August 8, 2025, at Atrium Health Cabarrus Hospital in Concord. The Lord gently called her home, where tears are wiped away and love endures forever.
Cindy was born November 29, 1967, in Concord, North Carolina to the late Arlo Smith Sr. and the late Mary Smith. She was also preceded in death by her stepmother, Evelyn Smith.
Survivors include daughter, Najla McNeely and son-in-law Robert McNeely, her three grandchildren, Jacob McNeely, Kaleb McNeely, and Lucas McNeely of Concord, NC, daughter, Rosa Jaafar of Concord, NC, brother Arlo Smith Jr. and sister-in-law Mary Smith of Charlotte, NC, sister Tammy Drew of Gastonia, NC, sister Amy Giles of Gastonia, NC, brother Timothy Smith and sister-in-law Thelma Joy Smith of Concord, NC. Nieces and nephews include Ernest Giles III, Kara Smith, Sydney Giles, Solomon Giles and wife Lauryn Giles, and Benjamin Smith.
Cindy was born and raised in Concord. She graduated from Concord High School, and went on to graduate from Rowan Cabarrus Community College with her Associates Degree in Medical Office Administration. She worked hard and loved deeply her entire life. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren, as well as family and friends. She was kind, generous, and loved Jesus, spending as much time as she could at her church, Harvest Community Church. Her kindness lives on in every heart she touched. Even in her passing, as an organ donor, her generosity continues as one more act of giving on this side of Heaven. She has exchanged her earthly struggles for a crown of glory. Now she dwells in eternal peace, face-to-face with her Redeemer.
The family will receive visitation at 5:00 PM with a celebration of life service to follow at 6:00 PM on Friday, August 15th, 2025, at Harvest Community Church, located at 4284 Orphanage Rd, Concord, NC 28027, and will be officiated by Pastor Matthew Turbedsky.
In lieu of flowers, donations to a memorial bench in her honor may be made to Harvest Community Church (https://harvestconcord.org/). She was also a monthly donor to K-Love Ministries and would be honored by donations to K-Love ( https://listen.klove.com/) as well.
