Cynthia (Cindy) Kern, age 60, of Tafton, PA concluded her battle with SCA7 in victorious fashion: a home in heaven with our Lord and Savior. Cindy passed peacefully with her family by her side and the Phillies up 9-0 on April 16, 2023, at 2:59. She was preceded in death by her brother Donald, her niece Megan, and her father Donald.
Cindy was born on August 1, 1962, in Burlington, VT. She grew up in Morrisville, PA with her mother Bobbie and her late father, Donald, along with her four siblings. She attended Penn State University and graduated from Rider University with a degree in accounting, which she used to help run Dave's many entrepreneurial endeavors.
Cindy resided in Holland, PA for 20 years with her husband David where they raised their daughters, Aimee and Dani. After a few years wintering in Florida they retired to Tafton, PA on Lake Wallenpaupack, former summer home of Dave's parents, where she and Dave lived with her eldest daughter, Aimee, her husband Jeff, and their children, Jeffrey, Jaxson, Jayson, Jennifer and Baby Girl Due in June. Cindy always looked forward to visits and watching the Phillies with her younger daughter Dani, her husband James, and their children, LJ and Jayden.
She is also survived by her mother, Roberta Santa Croce; her older sister, Diana Overton and husband Matt; younger brother, Roy and wife Molly; and younger sister, Roberta, along with many other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews who loved her very much.
Cindy's favorite past times were playing computer games with her grandkids on her lap, listening to books on tape, sunbathing, watching and complaining (naturally) about the Phillies.
Cindy and her family are at peace with her arrival to Heaven. Cindy's faith was strong as was demonstrated by her listening to the Bible cover to cover four times per year. Cindy was a mom to anyone who needed her, a friend to anyone who knew her, and a light to anyone who crossed her path.
Cindy's life will be celebrated at The Wallenpaupack Church on Sunday, April 23 at 3 PM. (1237 Purdytown Turnpike, Lakeville, PA 18438) The service will be followed with a reception to celebrate her life, please dress for the weather.
In lieu of flowers please make donations in Cindy's name to the National Ataxia Foundation at www.ataxia.org/donate.
If you are interested in staying in the area Sunday night, please reach out to Aimee or Dani for more information.

I have never met a more pleasant happy beautiful soul in my life. Cindy carried her disease with such grace I know our Lord and Savior were happy to bring her home and make her whole again. To all her family my heart hurts for you, she is worth missing, but you know how she believed. Live life like Cindy did and world would be a better place. N. Colony Cove will never be the same. RIP Cindy love Rachel Snyder
