Cynthia A. Reimer, 64, of Tinton Falls entered her eternal rest on Sunday, March 17, 2024 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune Township. Born in Staten Island, New York on May 21, 1959 to Robert and Patricia Reimer, she was the first born daughter and a very proud Staten Islander even after she moved to New Jersey in 2003.
She graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice and Journalism from St. John's University and worked toward a Masters in Counseling before deciding to pursue a career in education. She earned her Masters in Education degree from Saint Peter's University, Jersey City.
Cynthia began her career as a teacher at Moore Catholic High School, Staten Island, N.Y. where she was very involved with the students and served as a chaperone on international trips and helped organize the prom. She was devoted to Catholic education and found her greatest joy in shepherding young learners in both their academic and faith formation as she served as principal at several Catholic schools. She served as principal of Sacred Heart School, Monroe, N.Y.; Sacred Heart School, Staten Island; Holy Innocents School, Neptune Township; and most recently principal of St. Rose of Lima School, Freehold.
She was honored to be recognized by the Academy of Saint Dorothy, Staten Island, with the St. Paula Frassinetti Award in 2008. This was an especially sweet recognition since she and her siblings all attended the school. She was actively involved with the archdiocese of Trenton and collaborated with her fellow principals as she sought to provide the best possible learning and faith experiences for her students and their families.
In addition to her professional career, she worked for several years at a women's shelter in Staten Island, tutored students for the high school entrance exam and, most recently, wrote and edited educational content for various publishers.
Cynthia loved to celebrate the holidays with her family. She took great joy in planning the menu and decorating for each holiday. She was extremely proud of her Italian heritage and family members knew every holiday would feature favorite Italian dishes and pastries.
Cynthia was predeceased by her parents, Robert H. and Patricia (Simmons) Reimer; and a beloved brother, Michael Reimer.
Cynthia is survived by her sister, Patricia Walters and husband Douglas; a sister-in-law, Jan Reimer; her nieces and nephews, Mikayla Reimer, Abigail Reimer, Aiden Reimer, Nicholas Walters and wife Brittany, Jessica Smith and husband Jeffrey, and Christopher Walters and wife Taylor; a great nephew, a great niece; a devoted friend, Robert Vignieri; her beloved godmother, Theresa Tumminello and many special friends.
Visitation will be held at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold (corner of Randolph and McLean Streets) on Monday. March 25, 2024 from 3 to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. followed by interment at the parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Education Trust, 16 McLean Street, Freehold, NJ 07728 or the St. Rose of Lima School P.T.A., 51 Lincoln Place, Freehold, NJ 07728 would be appreciated.

Cynthia Reimer was my granddaughter's principal at Holy Innocents School in Neptune Township New Jersey and I am here to most proudly say that Cynthia was the MOST GREATEST PRINCIPAL any one of us have ever met! She was just one TOTALLY INCREDIBLE LADY who had a heart of pure gold and for each and every one of us that was blessed with the absolute honor of having this most special young lady in our lives - we will forever remain to be - most eternally grateful to God! Cynthia was always such a loving and caring young woman who gave to all from the bottom of her heart and while she made such a huge difference in all of our lives - she will forever remain to be so very dearly remembered, so very dearly loved and so very, very deeply missed! We love you Cynthia!

This is my daughter's first communion. A very special moment for us with Ms Reimer. I did blot out faces of the kids since I don't have their parents permission. Beautiful day in my mind forever. Rest easy Ms Reimer.
