Cynthia Jo Sappington

Cynthia Jo Sappington (Palmer) passed away on August 20, 2024, in Kearney, Missouri, at the age of 64. Born on December 10, 1959, in Portales, New Mexico, Cynthia was a loving and caring individual known for her warmth and generosity.
Cynthia retired in 2022 as an accountant. She was a proud graduate of Park University, where she completed her studies in 2007.
Cynthia spent many years attending St. Mary's Episcopal Church with her family while residing in Kansas City.
Cynthia was a beacon of joy, known for her infectious laugh, ability to light up any room, and punctuality. Her interests were varied and rich; she enjoyed live concerts, solving puzzles and mind teasers, and cherished beach vacations. A passion of hers was driving a sporty car with a manual transmission, and coveted her 1967 Camaro. Above all, Cynthia was devoted to her family, both formally and informally, taking immense pride in their accomplishments and cherishing every moment spent with them while also always lending an ear and offering a hug when someone needed it.
She leaves behind her husband, Gary Sappington; her sons, Brandon (Tiffany), Jacob, Andrew (Catherine); and her daughter, Kelly (partners Jason Ayers & Emily Spreitzer). Her brothers Pat (Deb), Mike, and Tom also survive her. Cynthia was a cherished grandmother to Luke, Morgan, Dylan, Sadie, Valorie, Noah, Scarlett, Ayvanna, and Ezra. She was preceded in death by her sister Tracy Palmer, brother Dan Palmer, and her parents George and Noella Palmer.
The funeral arrangements are being handled by Hidden Valley Funeral Home in Kearney, Missouri. Cynthia's life and legacy will be honored in a ceremony that reflects her vibrant spirit and loving nature.
