Cynthia Ann Staebler passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at the Madrid Home in Madrid, Iowa, at the age of 86.

Cynthia was born on December 12, 1938, to Vernon and Aileen (Rosene) Shadle. She attended grade school in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School with the class of 1957.

On October 19, 1957, she married William (Bill) Staebler at St. John’s Catholic Church in Ogden. Cynthia was employed as a bookkeeper at Medical Associates Pharmacy in Boone for over 30 years. Having lived most of her life in Ogden, she was first to volunteer to help the church, schools, or city. She loved to decorate St. John’s Church for the catholic holidays.

Cynthia was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church. She was also a member of Questers and enjoyed antiquing with her friends and gardening. Her family will always remember how she decorated their home for all the holidays. Cynthia and Bill enjoyed traveling. She would tell you Portugal was a favorite, they even went there twice. She also loved visiting Hawaii and California and most of all spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Left to cherish Cynthia’s memory are her husband, Bill Staebler of Ogden; children, Lori (Brad) Adler of Washington, Mike (Cheri) Staebler of Ames, and Robyn (Dan) Dvorak of California; six grandchildren and three great granddaughters and a future great grandson in May; her brother, Joe Shadle of Boone and several nieces, and nephews.

In death she rejoins her parents and brother, Tim Shadle.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 17, 2025, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Ogden with visitation prior to the service beginning at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery. Carson-Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden has been entrusted with arrangements.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
