A Mass of Christian Burial for Cyrus James Seilhan, 72, of Jennings, will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church with Rev. Trey Ange officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
Visitation for Mr. Seilhan will begin on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. and continue until closing at 9:00 p.m. A Cursillo rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m.
Visitation will resume Friday morning at 8:00 and continue until 9:30 a.m. to leave for church.
Mr. Seilhan passed away peacefully on January 3, 2023, after struggling with health issues for the past few years.
Mr. Seilhan was born on September 28, 1950, in Jennings, to Isaac and Ethel Miller Seilhan. He was a high school graduate of Jennings High class of 1970 and worked as a salesman in the construction/building material field. Although, he lived in Baton Rouge for about 20 years, most of his life was spent in Jennings. He loved watching LSU, taking rides, eating out and French music.Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Judy Guillot Seilhan; daughter, Kim (Dan) Best of North Carolina; two sons, Kyle (Rhonda) Laughlin of Prairieville and Travis (Melissa) Seilhan of Jennings; three sisters, Emily (Bill) Fabacher and Matilda LaCombe, all of Iota and Nickie Bertrand of Lake Arthur; two brothers, Abbie (Sandra) Seilhan and Douglas Seilhan, all of Iota; ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, John Richard LeGros.
Pallbearers will be Isaac Seilhan, Joshua Seilhan, Philip Seilhan, Ryker Holloway, Devin Duplechain, Clay Clement, and Bill Fabacher.
Honorary pallbearers will be Luke and John Michael Seilhan.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the nursing staff at Jeff Davis Living Center, the Jennings American Legion Hospital, Dr. Christopher Achee and Father Trey Ange.
