MR. D'CORBY DAQUN BENNING better known as "Kobe", of 2151 Hillsinger Road, Augusta, GA gained his wings at the Piedmont-McDuffie Hospital in Thomson, GA on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at the tender age of 22. He was born on Sunday, August 18, 2002, to Keshia Benning and Derrick Jones.
Kobe was the brightest light in any room he entered. He was so full of life! Not only did he love his family and friends; they loved him so dearly in return.
During his walk here on earth, he never ever met a stranger. When he would see you, he would always greet you with a loving smile and warm hugs. No matter what the situation or circumstance, he'd always leave a beautiful and lasting impression upon you. He was just a young man who enjoyed life to the fullest. Our beloved D'Corby Daqun "Kobe" Benning will always be remembered by those of us who knew him well and loved him deeply.
Kobe was preceded in death by several dear loved ones: a paternal grandmother, Annie Jones; a paternal grandfather, Frank Jones; a maternal grandmother, Marilyn McNair; a maternal grandfather, John Benning, Sr.; a very special aunt, Francina Jones and numerous additional aunts, uncles, cousins, other family members and friends.
A life short-lived with many blessings, Kobe leaves many precious memories to be forever cherished and treasured to those he leaves behind: a loving mother, Keshia Benning of Augusta, GA; a loving father, Derrick Jones of Thomson, GA; two sisters, D'Jaylia Jones and Paris Benning, both of Thomson, GA; six brothers, KiDrez Benning, Demarco Brown, Derrekus Jones, Al'Qun Benning, Dardrecus Jones and Jacion Benning, all of Thomson, GA; four aunts, Erika McNair of Evans, GA, Shalette (Sylvester) Jones, Tameka Jones Beall and Demetria Jones, all of Thomson, GA; one uncle, John Benning, Jr. of Thomson, GA; a multitude of other family members and friends.
