Daisy Daugherty Biggs

Daisy Daugherty Biggs, 73, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Saturday, December 31, 2005, at the Southern Magnolia Estates in Golden, MS, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was a member of the Iuka United Methodist Church. She was formerly employed at the Iuka Shoe Company for 11 years, and later owned Daisy’s House of Fashions for 17 years. She also owned the Tishomingo County News with her husband. She was a member of the Chief Tishomingo Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution; and enjoyed traveling, genealogy, and spending time with family and friends. Visitation is scheduled for 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, January 1, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Monday, January 2, at the Iuka United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Ed Temple. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her nephews, Butch Daugherty, John Dennis Daugherty, Derrick Tapp, Glen Tapp, Nick Tapp, John Denver Tapp, Chad Daugherty, and Chris Daugherty. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements.

Survivors include her husband, Johnny Biggs of Iuka, MS; 1 daughter, Charlotte McVay and husband, Jimmy, of Iuka, MS; 1 brother, Earl Daugherty of Iuka, MS; 1 granddaughter, Hayley Franks and husband, Billy, and special granddaughters, Brandy and Leigha Brown, all of Iuka, MS; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, D. C. and Blanche Daugherty; 2 sisters, Elizabeth Randle and JoAnn Jones; and 4 brothers, Charles, L. D., and D. S. Daugherty and an infant brother.
