Daisy Merle McCalla was born December 07, 1934, to Egnew and Brandford McCalla in Bois Content, St.Catherine, Jamaica. Her passing was on October 24, 2025, at her home in Augusta, GA. after a brief illness.
Daisy emigrated to the United States in her early twenties and spent most of her life in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After several years as a domestic worker, she took night courses and received her diploma as a stenographer and a keypunch data entry operator for over ten years and later retired from the Philadelphia public school system.
Daisy moved to Augusta, GA in 2009 and became a member of Marvin United Methodist Church where she volunteered and was especially fond of helping the children in their pre-school program.
Leaving to cherish her memories are her sons Clinton McCalla Sr. (Jacqueline Curtis) and John McCalla and their families; her twin sister Una Garvin, and sisters Lolita, Ina, Lila and her brother Basil McCalla. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
