Daisy M. (Epler) Pensinger, 86, of Pensinger Lane, Mertztown, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, April 18, 2025 in her residence. She was the wife of Robert L. Pensinger whom she married on November 17, 1957.
Born in West Reading, Daisy was a daughter of the late John and Mary E. (Moore) Epler and was a 1957 graduate of Kutztown Area High School. Daisy was employed as a waitress at Marie's Kitchen, Kutztown, for 20 years, and Bessie's Home Cookin, Topton, for many years. She assisted at the Lutheran Home Daycare and Linda Miller's Daycare both in Topton and was also an "Avon Lady" for 23 years.
Daisy lived a life rich in love, compassion, and joy in her cherished community of Topton, Pennsylvania. Daisy was a faithful and dedicated member of Saint Peter's United Church of Christ, Topton, where she sang in the choir and was a former Sunday school teacher. She was also a lifetime member of The Pioneer Grange #1777, Topton. Daisy enjoyed gardening, cultivating her flowers and vegetables. She also enjoyed going for walks with her beloved cats, and playing UNO and Aggravation at family gatherings. Daisy's passion for community and family always shone through in everything she did, and her legacy will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who knew her.
Along with her husband of 68 years, Robert, Daisy is survived by her four children, Edward A. Pensinger, Lyon Station, Tammy L. (Pensinger), wife of Tim Schaeffer, Mertztown, Cindy L. (Pensinger), wife of Harry Schlegel, Topton, and Tina K. Pensinger, wife of Will Elam, Phoenix, AZ; sister, Nancy (Epler) Sanner, Kutztown; six grandchildren, Marci (Schaeffer) Schlegel, Brittany (Schaeffer) Covey, Nathan Leibensperger, Hannah Leibensperger, Jacob Zwoyer and Makenna Zwoyer; and six great-grandchildren, Cadence, Grace, Ava, Hunter, Rowen, and Ryileigh. She was predeceased by her parents, and siblings, Miriam Hiester, Margaret Ball, Ellen Trout, Patricia Ely, John Epler and Jim Epler.
A funeral service for Daisy will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Peter's UCC, 122 W. Franklin Street, Topton, PA with Pastor Crystal Angstadt and The Rev. Susan Lishman co-officiating. Burial will follow in Topton Union Cemetery. Viewings will be held on Friday evening, April 25th from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. and again on Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the church.
