Dakota had one of the biggest hearts with a genuine soul. Her love language was helping others. She enjoyed playing basketball, playing softball, riding her bike, taking walks and being out in nature, playing games, and enjoying time spent with family and friends. She was a big kid at heart, which is why she enjoyed playing games with her nieces and nephews. She was an amazing poet and has countless journals filled with her poems. She had dreams of joining the Peace Corps, volunteering abroad to help children in poverty, and to help fight racism and advocating women's rights. She had so much life and love to give to everyone she encountered. Her family would like to speak the truth about her death to possibly help save another life. We have lost too many loved ones to drugs in this area. Addiction does not define who you are, and it doesn't have to be the end to your story like Dakota. Your life matters. It's time to rise up- for ourselves, our families, and most importantly our future. In honor of Dakota's life, we would like you to spread awareness on addiction and mental health.
