Dale Charles Collins, 63, of Columbus, died at 12:53 a.m., on September 19, 2025, at Our Hospice of South-Central Indiana. Dale was born on July 24, 1962 the son of Ray Charles and Alma Marie (Campbell) Collins. He married Rebecca Elisabeth Stowe on July 16, 1997. Dale had a deep passion for history and loved sharing stories of the past. He enjoyed spending time shooting and had a true appreciation for firearms. Family, however, was always at the center of his heart. He poured his love and energy into his marriage, stepchildren, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family, never missing a chance to tell them how proud of them he was. A gentle soul, Dale also had a special place in his heart for animals. His seven beloved fur babies were his constant companions, bringing him joy and comfort every day. Dale is survived by his wife, Rebecca Collins; three children he raised as his own, Crystal Cornelius, Joy Woodcock, and William "Billy" Cornelius; sister, Jan Collins; grandchildren, Michael McQueen, Brandon Arnold, Chase Robinson, Kayla Robinson, Kanisha Lucas, and Eden Collins; 4 great-grandchildren; beloved niece, Janiece Lambert-Mann; best friend, caretaker, and brother-in-life, Mark Galbraith; 9 nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Alma Collins; brother, Donald Collins; sisters, Diane Crossland and Patricia Pettigrew. In honoring Dale's wishes, cremation was chosen, and his family takes comfort in knowing his spirit will live on through the love and memories he leaves behind. The family will announce a celebration of life gathering at a later date. Services were entrusted to Jewell Rittman Family Funeral Home. You are invited to share a memory or light a candle in his honor.
