Dale V. Griffin, 84, of Philo, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Tuesday, March 11, 2025.
Born on January 8, 1941, in Zanesville, Dale was the son of the late Robert D. and Goldie (Knapp) Griffin. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1959 to 1963. Dale dedicated forty years of his career to Chaffin and White Machining as a skilled machinist until his retirement.
A lifelong member of the Duncan Falls United Methodist Church, now known as the Duncan Falls Beacon of Christ, Dale found great fulfillment in his faith community. He enjoyed hunting, woodworking projects in his garage, and was an enthusiastic sports fan.
Dale is survived by his devoted wife of sixty-one years, Mary Lou (Hunsicker) Griffin, whom he married on November 2, 1963; his two sons, Wesley (Melissa) Griffin and Samuel (Julia) Griffin; his four loved grandchildren, Riley, Maria, Vince, and Adrian; his sister, Susie Smith; along with other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Dale's honor to the Duncan Falls Beacon of Christ, PO Box 265, Duncan Falls, Ohio, 43734.
Visitation will be held from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls. A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Karen Osborn, will follow at 5:30 PM at the funeral home. Dale will be laid to rest in Duncan Falls Cemetery, with full military honors provided by the George Selsam VFW Post #1058 and the United States Marine Corps Color Guard.
