Elmer "Dale" Malone Jr., age 79, of Mt. Juliet, passed away peacefully on October 1, surrounded by family. Born on November 30, 1945, to the late Dale and Margaret Malone. Dale brought so much light into the lives of his friends and family, and his absence will be profoundly felt.
Dale was the beloved husband of Marie Malone and the beloved father of Casey Malone. Dale and Marie shared sixty years of marriage. Dale was a charter member of Victory Baptist Church. He enjoyed traveling to all 50 states, listening to music, especially classic country music, playing the guitar, and he loved his family. He served thirty-four years at DuPont and Reemay. In his retirement, he worked 12 years at Bond Memorial Chapel, which he loved.
Dale was preceded in death by brother-in-laws Charles Gibbs and Paul Neal; sister-in-laws Jean Neal and Linda Pursell. He survived by his wife, Marie Malone, and son, Casey Malone; his sister, Cora Gibbs of Mt. Juliet, his brother-in-laws and sister in law, J.T. and Peggy Pursell, and Dale Pursell of Liberty, TN, and many other nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Dale will be held Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Bond Memorial Chapel, officiated by Brother Chuck Groover, with interment to follow at Mount Juliet Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3rd, from 4 to 8 PM and one hour before the service on Saturday.
