Dale Albert, the son of John and Norma Jean (Stoermer) Poortinga, was born December 5, 1944 in Des Moines, Iowa. He proudly served in the United States Army as a Green Beret. On May 8, 1970 he was united in marriage with Judith Wyatt. Dale worked hard to provide for his family. He enjoyed sports, and coaching his daughter and granddaughters in softball. Dale was an avid fisherman and liked experiencing the changing of the seasons.
Dale is lovingly remembered by his wife, Judy; children: Todd, Tonya (Eric) Frangos, and Tabitha (Michael) Smith; grandchildren: Jared, Jordan, Thea, Shaylee, and Jakub; great-grandchild, Ember; and his siblings: Dean, Duane, Darrel, Darlene Smith, and Delores Weisner.
