Age 69, died on Monday, February 12, 2024. Dale was born May 16, 1954, in Elmira, son of the late John and Lillian Crane Ramich.
Survived by Patricia J. Segatto Ramich and their son, Brian J. Ramich (Heather Anson), and many beloved cousins and their families; and companion, Missy Murphy; a host of caring, cherished, and loving friends.
Dale graduated from Elmira Notre Dame High School in 1972, attained a degree from Alfred State, and later retired after 30-plus years as a Senior Mechanical Engineer with Corning, Inc. While working full-time and taking engineering classes at Alfred, Dale became close friends with a small group of fellow "older" students. The group bonded by joining the Tau Alpha Pi Fraternity and calling each other "brothers," helping each other through classes and rough times in life for many years.
Dale was instrumental in getting the group together for numerous laughs and reunions. He supported several imperative national programs during his 30-plus years assisting Advanced Optics and the Canton Plant. He was the equipment lead for many programs where he helped design and fabricate various equipment for safely handling glass parts. Dale was an exceptional engineer who could quickly diagnose a problem and would typically be one of the first to suggest how to resolve an issue. His knowledge, expertise, and attention to detail were a rare skill that made Dale one of the most sought-after engineers to support these projects. Dale's equipment was top-notch and to be used throughout the plant for many future decades.
Family and friends are invited to call at the Baker Family Funeral Home, 365 E. Franklin St. at Rt. 13, Horseheads, NY, Friday, February 16, 2024, from 4-6 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's, Franklin St., Elmira, NY, on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 10 AM; interment in St. Peter and Paul's Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
