Dale E. Ringling, 80, of
Platte, South Dakota, passed away peacefully September 18, 2024 leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter and hard work.
A prayer service will be held Sunday, September 22 at 7:00 pm with visitation beginning at 6:00 pm at First Reformed Church in Platte. A memorial service will be held Monday, September 23 at 10:30 am at the First Reformed Church.
Dale was born May 15, 1944 to Harm E. and Johanna (Weerheim) Ringling in
Platte, SD. Dale was a proud farmer who also enjoyed many other jobs including truck driving, selling horse tack in Muleskinner's Tack Box, picking up roadkill deer off the roads, and working at Meyerink's Farm Service. His most important job was spending his life dedicated to his family and the Lord.
Dale married Donna Arshem on November 8, 1969 in Geddes, SD. To this union, three girls were born.
Dale cherished time spent with family and friends and having a good story (or two) to share with everyone. He loved going his grandkids activities and was extremely proud of them all! He enjoyed sharing his favorite hobbies with those around him, such as fishing, hunting, dancing, bowling, and horseback riding. He was always up for a game of pitch.
He was active with Platte Horseman's Club, Charles Mix County 4-H, Platte Pheasants Forever Chapter, and First Reformed Church. Dale coached bowling on Saturday mornings for many years. He took three trips to national bowling events with his daughters.
Dale will be dearly missed by those who knew him, but his memory will live on through the many lives he touched. His family and friends will forever remember his kindness and laughter.
Dale is survived by his loving wife, Donna, whose love spanned over 55 years; his three daughters, Lisa (Kyle) Kuipers of Sisseton, SD; Vicki (Kevin) Adams of Mitchell, SD; and Tanya (John) Eian of Plymouth, MN, all of whom carry forward the strength and love he instilled in them. He was a loving grandfather to nine grandchildren, Marissa (Dallas) Owen, Jordan Kuipers, Abby Kuipers, Dillon (Allison) Adams, Dawson Adams, Dayton Adams, Emma Eian, Ella Eian and Eli Eian, who brought endless pride to his life, and he was further blessed with four great-grandchildren, Margo, Cash, Finn and Ares Owen. Additionally, four sisters and brothers-in-law: Dolly & Albert Beltman, Everine and Lyle Schipper, JoAnn & Leonard Steckley and Kathy & Lowell Kredit and in-laws, JoAnn and Gene Jandreau and Lynn Standy, along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws, a brother-in-law, a sister-in-law, nephew, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services for Dale Ringling age 80 of
Platte, SD, will be held at First Reformed Church,
Platte, SD on Monday, September 23, 2024, at 10:30AM. Burial will take place in the Platte City Cemetery. There is a prayer service Sunday night at 7pm at the church. Visitation one hour before the Prayer service.
