Dale Allen Shick, Sr., born on December 24, 1944, in Pittsburgh, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2025, in Danville at the age of 80.

Dale proudly served his country as a Vietnam Helicopter Gunman, earning the Distinguished Flying Cross and two Air Force Medals for his bravery and service. Upon returning home, he applied his skills and work ethic to a career as a truck driver and diesel mechanic, where he was respected and admired.

Outside of his professional life, Dale was an avid hunter and a master of fixing engines and loved building racecars. His passion extended to his love for guns and his impressive stamp collection, along with various other cherished keepsakes. Family time was precious to him, and he delighted in solving puzzles and spending quality moments with his loved ones.

Dale is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Richard and Margaret (Earon) Shick, and two sisters. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Mary (Wingo) Shick; a son, Dale (Vincene) Shick, Jr., and daughter Susan (David) Zoeller. He also leaves behind a legacy in his grandchildren: Abigaile, Gabrielle, Blair, Paul, Abby, Michael, and Vincent, as well as great-grandchildren Nova, Rowan, Maxwell, Hudson, and Maverick. Dale also leaves behind two siblings; Richard (Mary Lou) Shick and Carol (Doug) Whitney.

In accordance with Dale's wishes, a private celebration of life will be held at the convenience of his family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mary or the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
