At his Ingram home, with his family by his side, on Monday, August 18, 2025, Richard H. Shick, age 86. Beloved husband of Mary Louise Shick; loving father of Robert (Aline) Shick, Mary Ellen Thomas and Richard A. Shick; dear grandfather of Ryan (Sarah Laane) Shick, Amanda Shick, Christopher (Eliza Tadley) Rice and Victoria Rice. Brother of Carol (Doug) Whitney and the late Dale A. (surviving wife Mary) Shick. Richard was honorably discharged from the Army in November 1962 with a Good Conduct Medal following 3 years of service in Korea and Germany. While in the service, he specialized in H34 Sikorsky helicopter repair. Following his discharge, he attended Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics where he became a certified Aviation Maintenance Technician, and on graduation, hired on with Mohawk Airlines, married Mary Louise Scott and moved to Utica, NY in 1964. He moved with his wife and 3 children back to Pittsburgh, and into his family home in Ingram, PA, in 1974 with the merger of Mohawk and Allegheny airlines. He worked in various maintenance and inspection positions with the associated airlines, eventually become part of USAir, until his retirement in 1990. Private inurnment, with military honors, will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. Arrangements entrusted to the Hershberger-Stover Inc. Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 170 Noble Ave., Crafton, PA.
